Background: Fibroadenoma mammae (FAM) is the most common benign breast tumor, predominantly affecting women under 30 years old. Its size may increase beyond 10 cm, leading to breast asymmetry or hypertrophy. While its etiology remains unclear, several risk factors has been reported
Aim: To determine the relationship between the prevalence of fibroadenoma mammae and patient status at Siaga Medika Purbalingga Hospital. The status includes Age and Marriage and the position of the tumor has 4 criteria (superolateral, superomedial, inferolateral, inferomedial, and multiple).
Method: The secondary data from FAM patient medical records at Siaga Medika Purbalingga Hospital in 2020 was analyzed. A chi-square test was used for statistical analysis.
Result: Most of the pathological slides belong to patients within 21–30 years old. There was no significant correlation between FAM and marriage status (P = 0.886). Tumor location between the age range of fibroadenoma mammae patients are significantly related and most location quadrants of mammae in superolateral (P = <0,001).
Conclusion: There is a correlation between the prevalence of fibroadenoma mammae with patient age and tumor location at Siaga Medika Purbalingga Hospital.
